It has been more than 5 years I believe, since I last wrote on this blog.
For those of you who have checked on us until now, hello! And thank you. I'm amazed to see that there were people who were reading until now!
Let me properly introduce myself, as well as update you the current events.
WHO AM I
My name is Marina Yamamoto, and my nationality is Japanese.
I grew up not only in Tokyo; I lived in Houston Texas USA from 1-7 years old, and Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam from 15-18 years old.
I was a very shy girl in high school, until one day I found my mother's acoustic guitar. I practiced playing as I sing, and started to not only do cover songs but originals. As I went to university and started working, I kept on doing music through solo projects under Marina Yamamoto, and a duo band as we know as Mutual Clock.
Then, I was not active with music about 5 years.
But that is about to change.

Mutual Clock was a duo band that I and Kevin Hoshino was working on from 2014~2018. Unfortunately, we disbanded in 2018. (All music videos are still on our YouTube "Mutual Clock")

If you were wondering, I am a dream pop/indie pop/shoegazey singer-songwriter.
Influenced by Daughter, Slowdive, Men I Trust, Clairo, and Hazel English.
Over the past 5 years or so, I was away from social media focusing on myself, family, friends and other careers. I needed to heal myself from a lot of obstacles and hurt I had too. But as I experienced and grew, I figured I've always wanted to pursue my dream with music more seriously. So I warmed myself up, stopped self-sabotaging, and came back to be honest to myself.
I went to London in 2023 summer, to attend ICMP song writing summer school. I met a friend who loved my music and offered me to record my song. He and I are working on this as my 1st single release. I will also be going to LA this May to record further songs, and release.
[Kevin Hoshino → Reds]
Kevin had been working on a different band project called "Reds" until recent years. Formed with Yuka Kikuchi and Kevin Hoshino, they bring another different kind of Rock n roll music, which is a new wind from Mutual Clock. Influenced by Oasis and The Beatles. He was active in Vancouver Canada, and recently came back to Japan.
